In May’s own words,
Everyone is use to hiding their emotions. I wanted to put their emotions out onto the surface. The first thing you see when you meet someone is their face. By looking at someone you don’t know what they’re going through or even who they are. The puzzle pieces show that we are constantly changing and can change out of those pieces.
