The District track Championships were held Monday and Tuesday
and HHS had so many great performances throughout the two days.
Two performances of which earned a couple athletes the opportunity to go to the state meet. Joe Gandarillas ran an awesome 400m (51.29) to place 2nd in the event. Freshman Jewell Paden blasted away the competition in the 100m (12.34) and placed 2nd in the 200m (25.80) to earn her the right to compete at the state level. Jewell’s 100m mark ranks her currently 5th in the state.
If you see either athlete in the halls, please congratulate them on their hard fought victories and wish them the best of luck at the state meet.
