FAST TIMES AT HERITAGE HIGH – Jay Ulrich
Mr. Strong meets Mr. Hand. The similarity is uncanny.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a 1982 American coming-of-age teen comedy film written by Cameron Crowe and adapted from his 1981 book of the same name. As a freelance writer for Rolling Stone magazine, Crowe went undercover at Clairemont High School in San Diego, California, and wrote about his experiences.
In 2005, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE – Erin Roetker & Marina Gephart
Everyone knows that different perspectives can lead to enlightenment. This video showcases the interaction between HHS’s two foreign exchange students Daphne van de Wildebergh and Catalina Manriquez.
THIRST – Blake Baxter
Thirst was created in Video Production class by HHS student Blake Baxter for the International Silent Youth Film Festival.
Baxter’s Thirst explores the parallel worlds of waking and dreaming life, and features stellar visual effects. Out of seventy-seven entries for the Pacific Northwest Edition of the festival, Blake’s film was selected as a top ten finalist that will be judged by a celebrity panel including internationally renowned director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk, My Own Private Idaho).
Thirst will be screened on the final night of the International Youth Silent Film Festival, with live musical accompaniment at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland on May 24th, at 7pm. For tickets and additional information visit: Makesilentfilm.com
