Picture this.

It’s your first day of school. You go through it once a year, but it’s different this time. Because today, you’re starting high school.

You’ve been at the same school, with the same people, for the last 3 years. But now you’re a freshman, navigating unfamiliar halls with faces you couldn’t name if your life depended on it.

Now it’s 4th period. You walk into your class, and don’t recognize a single person. All day you’ve been in classes with other freshmen. You didn’t know them all, but at least they were in the same boat as you, navigating those same unfamiliar halls.

You quickly find out that you are 1 of only 2 freshmen in the class. There’s 1 sophomore, but the rest are juniors and seniors.

“For a long time, I’ve wanted to go on a shoot involving somewhere rural with old barns, and abandoned cars. It’s one of those things that I find aesthetically pleasing. Also, there’s an element of adventure and an element of mystery that is intriguing. You never know what you’re going to find. Even as a child, I imagined how fun it would be to explore one of these locations. I find that the plants that overtake the original subjects are representative of something. I feel as though I’ve captured somebody’s memory, as life has gone on around it.”

THE INNER BEING by Dmitriy Ivanchuk

The inner being is an individual’s intention. Each intention has a meaning, and the meaning has a reason. Every person has a motivator, a series of factors that illuminate the truth of one’s identity. The factors vary in effectiveness, and each plays a role in shaping who you will become. One may become as cold as stone, or as warm as a setting sun. Every factor is unique and special to the situation.  Look inside, notice what one is, is there something that is portrayed through the black shadow that one fills?
